Do you dress for the city you are in?

Traveling from London to New York to Toronto to London to Paris and back got me thinking....do you dress for the city you are in? In most cities there is a fashion uniform, except perhaps in London where individuality reigns all, however, I noticed going from city to city during fashion weeks some of the fashion weekers submitted to a wee bit of pressure. In short I found I saw quite a few fashionistas from city to city change their style vibe.

I found that some of the ladies dressed VERY exciting and fashionable in London, to very minimalist in New York, and quite Parisian in Paris.  It got me thinking way back to high school where some girls would wear what everybody else would just to fit in.  I actually understood to an extent the thought process of these ladies, as travelling back to my home town of Toronto (where the style vibe is very similar to New York) I found myself toning it down just a wee bit.  This was simply a conscious effort to avoid the annoying conversation of "what are you wearing?" by some of the not so clued up ladies and gents back home.  Having said that I would still always dress for myself and wear what I would usually, just being a bit cautious to anything that might not translate just yet.  I was quite shocked seeing some (not all) of the same ladies over and over with a total fashion overhaul depending on the city we were in.

This left me with the ultimate question...do you dress for the city you are in?
