Street style - North/East London
The North/East London style is a melting pot of glam, grunge, rock, indie, vintage and retro styles. This is where trends are born in London and the vibe is all about looking unique ...not looking like everyone else. The big "thing" in these parts is about looking "cool"....and it really doesn't get much cooler than East London!

Chanel @ Dover Street Market
Tuesday night marked the opening of Chanel at Dover Street Market. Chane;s Londres-Paris collection is a perfect match for the UK concept store as it took inspiration from London style, as well as Amy Winehouse!
The store is completely decked out in Chanel, and the union jack at the moment complete with an army of Lagerfeld life size cutouts. The delicious setup stays true to Dover street's concepts as the Chanel items are mixed throughout the store and the layout is not as cookie cutter Chanel as you would find at Selfridges or any other store.

NY fashion week pushing out London?
The CFDA recently announced that the AW09 shows in New York will be taking up different dates this year. According to Vogue.co.uk they are pushing back the NY date, which essentially takes over about half of London Fashion week, leaving London just 4 days to show.
Unfortunately for London this is terrible news as many buyers already boycott London due to its overlap with the coterie trade show. With the poor dollar, as well as already low LFW attendance this is very bad news for London Fashion Week. Such a shame as so many important emerging designers come out of London Fashion Week.
